SOUND SOLUTION

If you can't hear sound now, you forgot to turn on the speakers, are running a text browser, have no sound card, need to pull the cucumber out of your ear, or you've got bigger problems.

What is playing right now is a midi file. If you don't want to keep hearing it, just hit stop on your browser. Virtually all computers, Mac to VAX, will play midi files if they have sound capabilites. Midi files are very VERY small, but the sound quality is not that great. What is becoming the best format for hearing high quality music on your computer is to compress the music into MPEG-Layer 3 format. (aka MP3). For all of you windoze users, the a solution to this problem is very simple. Download and install Microsoft NetShow.  If you want to play other MP3 files go to Winamp.com and download Winamp (It really whips the lama's ass.) NetShow, while being a Microsoft product, actually works. This will allow Windows to play MP3 format .wav files that you can download from places such as http://www.soundamerica.com or listen to them when they are attached to pages such as Prime Risk's (http://www.olsoncomputers.com/prime).

"Ok, Prime, I want to do this, so where do I go?"
